Glamorous Camping with Children
When you think back to your childhood holidays, what comes to mind? Few experiences beat camping holidays, bringing with it that sense of freedom that few other breaks can offer. From toasting marshmallows over an open fire to staying up late and telling ghost stories, we all have fond memories of our camping days.
Nowadays, kids are often more fascinated by their smartphones than spending time in nature, and it can be hard to tear them away from their screens. So, why not take them glamping?
Glamping combines the sense of adventure that comes with camping, with all the comforts and luxuries found in a 5-star hotel. It allows you to inject that lost sense of wonder back into camping, offering a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
With sumptuous bedding to sink into, hot tubs to soak in and cosy campfires to keep you warm at night, we’ve thought of everything here at Longberry Farm. Our bell tents are beautifully decorated, sleeping up to 6 family members in a warm and inviting environment; whilst the central fire pit and outdoor seating allows you to make the most of the great British summertime.
Our communal washroom is extremely luxurious, with hot powerful showers and real flushing loos. There is also a large, covered kitchen/living/dining area on site, allowing you to cook and eat in style. We even have a Secret Spa, boasting a warm and cosy hot tub – but shhh, it’s a secret!
Amazing Activities for Kids to Enjoy
Whether your kids are wilderness wanderers, history hunters or outdoor enthusiasts, there’s something for everyone here at Longberry Farm. Here are just some of the activities that families can enjoy:
Rediscover nature. Kids are often so glued to technology that they forget there is a whole other world out there, just waiting to be explored. Enjoy immersing yourselves in nature and discover the wonderful array of flora and fauna on offer here in Kent. With plenty of bugs to catch, trees to climb and open fields to run around in, nature offers some truly fantastic opportunities.
Spend quality time with friends and family. Our lives are often so busy that we don’t have time to catch up and spend time with our loved ones. Glamping allows you to reconnect with each other in a variety of different ways. Challenge your family to some competitive board games, enjoy some arts and crafts or go wildlife spotting in the meadow. The only limit is your imagination!
Fun around the fire pit. It wouldn’t be real camping without a fire pit! As the evening draws in, gather your family around the fire pit and make the most of mother nature. Cook some delicious food on the campfire – whether it be meat/veggie kebabs, corn on the cob or good ol’ fashioned s’mores. After dinner, grab some blankets and hot chocolate, and play some games or tell each other ghost stories.
Enjoy a spot of star gazing. On those crisp, clear nights, we highly recommend taking some time to admire the stunning star-studded skies here in Kent. Challenge your family to see who can spot the most constellations, or even name your own star. If you’re not an expert, you can try downloading a free stargazing app for guidance.
Keep Calm in the Kent Countryside
Take some time to explore your surroundings here at Longberry Farm. We are located just 1 mile from the beautifully quaint village of Bethersden in Kent – why not take a gentle stroll with the kids and admire the amazing architecture, or tuck into some hearty pub grub at a traditional country inn?
There is a plethora of local attractions to enjoy, all at under an hour’s drive from our glorious glamping site. Rediscover history at Godinton House, Leeds Castle, Bodiam Castle or Dover Castle; discover the wonderful wildlife at the Rare Breeds Centre, Port Lympne Safari Park, Wildwood or Wingham Wildlife Park; or enjoy a spot of sunbathing at Folkestone Beach, Camber Sands, Whitstable Beach or Joss Bay.
If you’re feeling adventurous, we recommend visiting the London Beach Golf Club, Tenterden Leisure Centre, Kent & East Sussex Railway or Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. Head on down to Green Farm Spa or The Granary Spa for a pamper session or indulge in some wine tasting at Chapel Down Winery or Biddenden Vineyard. The possibilities are truly endless!
