What do I need to bring with me?

Food & Clothing. That’s it. Really! Guests often comment “that you really have thought of everything” so you can pack light and enjoy your journey as well as your stay.

Do you have heating in your tents?

The tents have very warm duvets and we have lots of blankets and hot water bottles available which is enough to keep most people warm. We do not have wood burners or electric heating inside the tents. The Old Stable however does have electricity and an electric heater.

What if it rains?

If the weather does decide to turn, we have a large covered area with plenty of seating. We have a large BBQ here too so you can still cook and eat whatever the weather. This area also works well as a shady escape from the midday sun.

What cooking facilities do you have?

There is a large, 6 burner gas BBQ on the covered patio area and we provide plenty of gas for this, the BBQ also has a side burner like a hob and we also have a microwave, kettle and toaster in the kitchenette. We also provide all cooking equipment including saucepans, BBQ utensils, skewers etc.

Do you have a fridge?

Yes. We have 2 large fridge/freezers in the kitchen area.

Do you accept group bookings?

Yes, in fact we only accept group bookings - weekends have a minimum fee based on at least 16 guests and midweek stays have a minimum fee based on 8 guests staying.

Do you offer exclusive use?

Yes. We only offer exclusive use - all bookings will have the whole site to themselves. We can sleep up to 25 people in our accommodation but you can also bring / hire in extra tents for larger groups. We welcome Stag and Hen Dos, birthday celebrations, special occasions, corporate away days, wellness retreats or just an excuse to get together with friends and family.

Do you allow day guests?

Yes. We charge £35 per day guest.

What are your shower/toilet facilities like?

We have a modern washroom with 2 proper flushing toilets and 2 hot, showers which is located no more than 100m from the tents. We provide shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the showers and also hand soap and lotion at the sinks. There is also a hairdryer which you are welcome to use.

Do you provide towels?

Yes. We provide 1 towel per person in the washroom and 1 towel per person in The Secret Spa for use with the hot tub.

Do you provide washing up facilities?

Yes, our washing up sinks are located outside of the washroom and we provide washing up liquid, sponges, scrubbing brushes and tea towels for you to use.

Can I use the Hot Tub?

Yes, use of the hot tub is included in the price of all of our bookings, it is an electric hot tub so will be ready for you to use whenever you want it, no waiting for the water to heat up!

What facilities do you have for children?

We provide a range of outdoor games and some board games to help keep the kids entertained, the site is a largely open space so children can run and play freely while parents can still keep an eye on them. For younger children we have a baby changing table, baby bath, high chair. Young babies stay for free and so we do ask that you provide your own travel cot and bedding for them.

Do you allow campfires?

Of course, your Glamping experience wouldn’t be complete without one! There is a large fire pit in the middle of the site for our groups to use. We also do not charge any extra for the wood for your campfires, simply help yourself and enjoy the flames dancing.

How many tents do you have on site?

We have 4 tents and The Old Stable, a converted cabin. We can sleep a max of 25 but can also accommodate larger groups by bringing in extra tents.

Do you allow dogs?

Yes. Dogs are very welcome and stay for free. We do ask that dogs are kept on a lead while on site for the benefit of our other guests, we also have livestock in the surrounding fields which is something to be aware of. Dog mess MUST be cleared up immediately.

Can I get shopping delivered?

Yes, all the major supermarkets deliver to us without a problem. We are a 15 minute drive from the closest supermarket but the local village of Bethersden is 1 mile away and has a small shop for essentials and a great butcher which is well worth a visit.

Is there drinking water on site?

Absolutely. We have 3 taps which provide a mains water supply. Please do not bring water in plastic bottles, we are all too aware of the damage single use plastics are doing!

Do you recycle?

Yes. All of our waste is collected in one large commercial bin and is taken away, sorted and recycled for us off site.

How do I arrive by public transport?

Our closest train station is Pluckley which is an 8 minute drive. We strongly suggest you pre-book a taxi from here as it is a tiny countryside station. The alternative is Ashford International which is a 15 minute drive and is a much larger station. There is a bus stop in the village of Bethersden but this is still 1 mile and a good 20 minute walk away.

What is your cancellation policy?

This can be found in our Terms & Conditions. We strongly suggest that you have travel insurance in place in case of unforeseen circumstances.
