With the heat of summer behind us and as we make our way towards the autumn and winter months, we’re embracing the change of gear at Longberry Farm. Whilst our summers here are so busy, having the opportunity to slow down a little in October is always welcome! However, just because we’re moving through the seasons doesn’t mean that Longberry Farm is going into hibernation…
Rather, it is transitioning into a whole new opportunity for glampers, entirely! The autumn and winter months bring with them a host of beautiful and breathtaking sights, as the leaves change colour and fall, and - eventually - the frost embellishes the grass so that it crunches underfoot each morning. Our bell tents take a break through the winter… but our cutest and cosiest accommodation takes centrestage, as a magical little hideaway for couples seeking a romantic winter retreat!

If you adore the idea of a secluded little getaway, then The Old Stable at Longberry Farm was created with you in mind. Out of season, The Old Stable is the only accommodation that remains open, so booking a break at Longberry Farm means booking the entire three acres all to yourself!
Not only does this mean the whole site is yours, but also that surrounding trails, walks and beauty spots will be far quieter too. There's something magical about the gorgeous early sunsets, the long walks through crunchy autumn leaves and the breathtaking colour palette as nature transitions from one season to the next. Take your camera and snap some incredible shots of known local beauty spots - or set off exploring and see where you end up!
You could take a flask of hot chocolate on a romantic winter walk and enjoy the solitude and serenity of the trails, together… plus the cosy evenings spent sipping hot chocolate under blankets after an afternoon exploring it all are pretty divine too! The beauty of escaping the deadlines and to-dos of everyday life is that you have the freedom to be flexible, and see where each day takes you.
Cosy Up By The Fire
Campfires aren’t only for the summer months. In fact, they’re so much more magical in the winter, providing that cosy romantic glow as the evening draws in and the temperature falls… as well as welcome warmth! And of course, no camping trip - be it summer, autumn, winter or spring - would be complete without a roasted marshmallow or six, would it? We'll keep you topped up with firewood throughout your visit, too.. so there'll be no shortage of cosy moments! And when it’s time to retreat indoors for the night, our fully renovated, insulated and beautifully furnished Old Stable accommodation also features a rustic style log heater - making it the cosiest of home-from-homes.

Just an hour outside of London, our little slice of paradise offers romantic rural charm and a variety of quaint towns filled with many an opportunity to enjoy a quiet pub lunch, or a romantic evening meal opposite your favourite person.

Modern light pollution has made it tricky for us to view the night sky in all its incredible glory, however taking an autumn or winter glamping break will allow you the best opportunity to really enjoy the beauty of the starscape above us! If you have a smartphone, install a stargazing app ahead of your trip, and use it to identify the constellations and planets you spy in our beautiful sky.
